The “Pride & Prejudice” spinoff follows the adventures of Mary, the often overlooked sister in Jane Austen’s beloved 1813 novel. The Christmas special picks up after Mary and Tom have wed. “With marriage comes a new identity, and the question remains: who will Mary become as Mrs. Hayward?” reads its official synopsis. “But just as Mary begins this new chapter, an unexpected visitor from her past arrives at her door in need of her help…”

Screenwriter Sarah Quintrell, who penned nine of the original season’s 10 episodes, has written all three episodes of the special. Asim Abbasi also returns to direct.

After its premiere in March, “The Other Bennet Sister” became the biggest new drama across all platforms in streamers in the U.K. since the previous March, with 6.5 million watching in its first 28 days. Episode 1 is now up to 9.5 million viewers. It also broke records on BritBox, driving five times more new subscribers than any previous launch and achieving the highest streaming rate of any title launch on the service.

A release date has not yet been set for the special, but it will air in the U.S. and Canada on BritBox and in the U.K. on BBC iPlayer and BBC One. See more first-look images below.
