This Is Lorelei has announced a new album, The Singer In My Band. It’s Nate Amos’ first release for his new label, Matador, and it’s out on September 11. Check out a lead single from the record, “Billy Came Back,” below.

In a press statement, Amos described the follow up to 2025’s Holo Boy and 2024’s Box For Buddy, Box For Star as an “on-the-road beatnik” album, an observation first made by his dad, bluegrass musician Bob Amos. “It’s really a collection of chaotic experiences that you have while travelling,” he said. “They’re also very much little works of fiction with elements of truth to them.” Amos engineered, produced, and performed everything on The Singer In My Band: the only feature is his father, who plays banjo on the title track.

Fitting with the theme of the album, This Is Lorelei is heading out on a summer tour with support from Bleachers, @, and Colin Miller. The trek will take him across North America before he embarks on shorter fall legs in the UK and South America. Amos is currently in the midst of a tour with Water From Your Eyes, his band with Rachel Brown; the duo is opening for Hayley Williams.
